CEO of Business China, Ms Tin Pei Ling, was the Guest-of-Honour of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of New China Economic Development Experience Sharing Forum.
In her speech, Ms Tin highlighted the tremendous changes that China underwent over the past seven decades, where China has improved by leaps and bounds in areas such as economic development, urbanisation, technological innovation, and financial progress. China's GDP has grown at an average annual rate of 8.1% and is now the world's second largest economy. The relationship between Singapore and China have come a long way; the bilateral friendship and the longstanding cooperation between the two countries have deepened throughout the years. Singapore was closely involved in the early days of China's reform and opening up. Since then, government to government collaboration projects emerged one after another, fully establishing the “All-round Cooperative Partnership Progressing with the Times”. The forum allowed delegates a better understanding of China's past development and promote sharing of experience.
Professor Shi Hongxiu, CPC Central Party School (National Academy of Governance) shared his perspectives on China’s progress and current fiscal system reform. The forum was well-received, as delegates actively shared their views on controversial topics, such as the impact of the Sino-US trade war on China's economic development.
The invited speakers were Professor Shi Hongxiu and Professor Guo Wei, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, CPC Central Party School. The speakers shared their experiences with around 300 delegates at the forum.
