On 21 November 2018, Business China Chairman and the Member of Parliament (MP)for East Coast Group Representation Constituency (GRC), Mr Lee Yi Shyan, celebrated the founding of the Enterprise Singapore (ESG) Society together with more than 200 alumni members of the formerly known as International Enterprise Singapore and SPRING statutory boards, as well as corporate community and business leaders. Mr Lee, who once served as Senior Minister of State for Ministry of Trade and Industry and Chief Executive Officer of International Enterprise Singapore, is the Patron of the ESG Society.
In his address to members and guests of the Society at the Gala Dinner, Mr Lee illustrated how ESG and its predecessor agencies have been playing a critical role in facilitating Singapore’s economic growth and internationalisation via a chart depicting the economic progress and contribution to overall trade since the formation of Trade Development Board (TDB) in 1983. He encouraged members of ESG Society to continue to support the mission of ESG in their expertise at the various vertical industries. Mr Lee also shared about Business China’s various membership schemes and outlined how these programmes could connect local companies to China’s dynamic business landscape and the nexus of networks.
After concluding his address, Mr Lee was invited to present tokens of appreciation to sponsors of ESG Society before the commencement of dinner. A panel discussion on “Preparing for the New Disruptive Economy and Key Strategies to Embark On” to give insights on their internationalisation journey at the disruptive age.
