CHINESE President Hu Jintao will make a state visit to Singapore at the invitation of President SR Nathan from Nov 11-13 in conjunction with the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting.
President Nathan will receive a call by Mr Hu at the Istana and host a state banquet in his honour, a Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) statement said yesterday.
The Chinese leader will also meet with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, after which they will witness the signing of a number of bilateral agreements.
This will be followed by a lunch hosted for Mr Hu by PM Lee. Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew will also call on the Chinese leader.
Mr Hu will be the guest-of-honour at a gala dinner jointly organised by the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Business China.
