In China Insight series, Business China invites academics and industry experts from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore to offer valuable perspectives on issues that impact China and the world. The forum topics will range from social & cultural, business & economics, science & technology and politics & governance.
To kick off this forum series, Business China specially invited renowned host and commentator for Phoenix TV, Dr Yang Jinlin to speak on 4 April 2010, Sunday. He shared his perspectives on China, especially on the arising critical issues and prospects for modern China. This inaugural forum is supported by Xiamen (Amoy) University Alumni Association (Singapore).
More than 400 attended the forum held at NTUC Auditorium, including Business China members, members of Xiamen (Amoy) University Alumni Association (Singapore). students, and members of the public.
About The Speaker

Dr Yang Jinlin was born in Xiamen, China and holds doctorate in History from Xiamen University. Since migrating to Hong Kong in 1988, he has been actively working in Chinese media, assuming roles as editor and columnist for various newspapers and magazines. He is currently a host and commentator for programmes on Phoenix TV, his most recent programme being “Studying Around Greater China with Yang Jinlin”. He also contributes regularly to Lianhe Zaobao, Singapore main Chinese daily.
